As with February 10th & April 19th, April 4th, 1989 is another anniversary date that apllies to my 27 years of amateur story writing. On this day, I witness what I considered as the best television hour that I had seen then (and still do) with the Wiseguy episode ‘No One Gets Out Of Here Alive’, which would inspired the original Project (1989) fifteen days later. Since the pilot episode to the finale of the Sonny Steelgrave arc, I was totally hook from the beginning, but the finale took it to another level. I didn’t have VCR back then, but I clearly remembered the sensational finale, and I told myself ‘if I cant write what I had just witness, I’m not worthy as a writer at all’. But I was fortunate enough to created my own Wiseguy style with the original Project, which would created seven sequels in the following eighteen years. However nothing would compare to the emotional connection I would take away from experiencing writing original Project, and witnessing the epic April 4th episode of Wiseguy. I have no doubts at all that if the April 4th date with episode 10 of Wiseguy & the creation of the original Project the same month didn’t occur, I wouldn’t be a writer today, and that’s the truth. It made sound immature to others, but this has been my life saver with my writing in the last twenty five years, and should always be celebrated. And I’m looking forward celebrating the 25th anniversary of Project during my three nite stay in Sydney in fifteen days time. Stay tuned.
